First Post! Some Background On Myself And What I Do!

Hi, I’m John Ottwein,

also known as The Radon Guy! I've been installing radon systems for over ten years. Way back in 2008 I started my first radon mitigation company in the St. Louis area, putting some of my real estate and construction background to better use. 2008 was probably the worst time to start a new business, but the recession luckily didn't have a strong impact on my little corner of the Midwest compared to other parts of the country.

Five years later, my wife and I felt like it was time for a change. We packed up and moved to  Nashville, Tennessee. We fell in love with Nashville and never looked back. The last 10+ years here have been personally and professionally overwhelmingly positive. The folks in Nashville are some of the most like-minded and kind people I've ever encountered. Maybe this city attracts a certain type? I'm proud to be here and glad to have the opportunity to offer my services to you all.

I'll get into some more in-depth posts on radon, but first, I just want to give you quick overview of what I do: My goal is to offer the people of greater Nashville a realistic, no-pressure, honest approach to explaining and solving their radon problems. Once you've seen as many homes as I have, one understands there's no home that can't be "fixed" and it doesn't have to be stressful. I am YOUR radon guy and I want you to know I couldn't be more comfortable saying I am the best guy for the job.

In the next blog post I'm going to talk a little bit about the equipment I use and my techniques. I plan on doing some fun posts, as well. I’m looking forward to posting about some of the weird stuff I’ve found in crawl spaces over the years! In closing: I hope to be as transparent and upfront as I can possibly be so you feel good and understand my testing and mitigation processes… So please don’t hesitate to call or text me!
